Account Manager

OVERVIEW

The Account Strategist takes care of client needs by being their main point of contact, coordinating with various teams within the agency. Acting as the primary liaison between the agency and the client, they maintain a high level of responsiveness and service orientation in all interactions. They have a solid understanding of the client's business landscape, including competitors, and are well-versed in the agency's role and activities.

Before any work is delivered to the client, the Account Strategist meticulously reviews it to ensure it aligns with the brief and meets the agency's quality standards. Moving from strategy to execution, they craft messaging, develop assets, and create programs aimed at attracting subscribers. Whether it's digital ad campaigns or email marketing initiatives, they run concurrent programs and leverage data to make informed optimizations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all client account matters, fostering strong relationships built on trust and communication.

  • Conduct regular check-ins and meetings to update clients on project progress and discuss future opportunities. 

  • Anticipate and address client concerns or issues promptly to maintain satisfaction and retention.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to align client expectations with agency capabilities and deliverables.

Strategy

  • Be a curious student of the client’s organization and industry, and at all times, be able to explain and demonstrate a working knowledge of their needs, challenges and objectives. Use your understanding of their context and brand to provide strategic guidance and solutions.

  • Work closely with Marketing and Creative teams to develop strategies into actionable plans and deliverables, aligned with client goals and industry trends.

  • Bring content marketing expertise to the forefront of client engagements, positioning the team as thought leaders and specialists in the industry.

  • Responsible for developing and overseeing project timelines and budgets to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, including monthly timesheet reconciliation against client SOW.

Execution

  • Work closely with internal teams to set up client accounts for success, ensuring clear communication of project goals, timelines, and deliverables using Asana. All deliverables and client updates are tracked using tasks and comments, with clear timelines and expectations communicated to team members. 

  • Coordinate the execution of projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work that meets client expectations.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks to minimize project disruptions and delays.

  • Work collaboratively and communicate clearly with team members to drive efficiency and productivity.

  • Monitor campaign performance and metrics to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

  • Continuously refine and optimize strategies based on data insights and market feedback.

Account Growth 

  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing key findings and insights for clients, providing strategic recommendations and actionable insights based on data analysis.

  • Collaborate with clients to identify key challenges and opportunities, conducting thorough market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic recommendations (pending project scope of work).

  • Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional services to existing clients, with a goal of increasing revenue of your portfolio each calendar year.

Business Development 

  • Participate in pitches and presentations to prospective clients, showcasing agency capabilities and expertise.

  • Contribute to the development of proposals, pitch decks, and other sales collateral.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to identify new business opportunities.

  • Cultivate strong networks and relationships to generate leads and referrals.

  • Support team members by offering support and assistance as needed, even beyond the scope of your normal duties, pending client and business needs.

  • Maintain client satisfaction of 80% or above, based on survey results and qualitative feedback.

MUST HAVES:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.

  • Proven experience in account management or client-facing roles within an agency environment.

  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate client objectives into actionable plans.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with clients and internal teams.

  • Demonstrated project management expertise, including the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, with the ability to derive insights and recommendations from performance metrics.

  • Familiarity with digital marketing channels and technologies preferred.

  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving client satisfaction and business growth.
